Surely, they just delay the work so much that it never reopens...  :conf:

Well, it won't reopen it its current position, it will be 100m or so to the south IIRC.

I've got no issue with the original terminating station being displayed as normal (if everything just said 'Bowen Hills', people unfamiliar with the network may not board the train). However, where it has each station listed, it really should have something like:

Central
Fortitude Valley
Bowen Hills
Change at Bowen Hills to rail replacement bus service to:
Albion
Wooloowin
Etc.

Would make it much clearer IMO.

Gold Coast Bulletin --> Train track closures to impact the Gold Coast, Beenleigh and Brisbane Airport lines on Easter long weekend $

Quote... While the bookings are booming, so too are the travel disruptions, meaning some of our inbound tourists may struggle to even make it here. First we have heavy rail work set to impact the Gold Coast, Beenleigh and Brisbane Airport lines, and it starts on Good Friday.

The track closures, which will extend through to April 14, are due to Cross River Rail works, with Cross River Rail Delivery Authority CEO Graeme Newton saying people who travel on the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines should allow extra time and plan their travel in advance over the Easter school holidays.

Mr Newton said the works required continuous and intensive works in the rail corridor, and would include track reconfiguration, signalling and testing at the stations from Dutton Park to Salisbury.

"While the works are deliberately planned for during the quieter school holiday period, we understand some rail customers will be inconvenienced," he said.

Acting Head of TransLink Peter Milward said alternative travel arrangements would be in place during the closure, including express and all stop rail replacement buses.

While trains from the Gold Coast to Brisbane Airport will continue to run along an alternative route, the construction means buses will be required for some routes, adding to the dreaded M1 traffic – always at an highest over the Easter long weekend. ...

Considering railbuses are only running from Park Rd to Moorooka, and not along the M1 at all, I think the author might be exaggerating a bit with their portrayal of traffic doom.

The bigger issue is that running via Tennyson breaks bus/rail connection all along the Gold Coast line, yet this is not mentioned at all. Fortunately, train-tram connections are less of an issue, due to the relatively high frequency of the light rail.

Weekend Ipswich/Rosewood and Springfield lines changes - Corinda to Goodna

https://translink.com.au/updates/493956

On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June there will be station closures and changes to timetables on the Ipswich/Rosewood and Springfield lines, following a bridge strike on Monday 3 June.

Trains will be running on a single track whilst urgent bridge repairs are carried out. To help manage the busy train traffic, the following changes will be in effect:

What's changing?

Trains will travel express between Darra and Goodna stations; affecting Ipswich/Rosewood line services.
Wacol and Gailes stations will be closed to train services all weekend.

A timetabled rail replacement bus R592 will run between Darra and Goodna stations, with stops at Wacol and Gailes.

Trains coming from Brisbane City (outbound) will hold at Corinda station for approximately 8 minutes to allow for inbound trains to pass.

Timetables have been updated in journey planner, so please re-plan your travel before heading out.

Services will return to normal from the first train on Monday 10 June.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

I travelled from Loganlea to Caboolture and back today, through the closure between Banoon and Eagle Junction/Northgate.

It wasn't terrible, but the advice given by staff wasn't especially accurate.

For example, on the way home in the afternoon, the guard on the train announced at Northgate that everyone except passengers for the airport should've left the train there. This is despite the journey planner telling me to get off at Eagle Junction, and take R701 (express) to Banoon.

The staff at the railbus stops at Banoon this morning didn't really seem to know what was going on, either. Maybe it got better by the afternoon, or maybe just different staff, but those who were on duty at EJ this afternoon were far more helpful.

Got to do the Airport/Caboolture switcharoo yesterday.

(I thought it'd do a full crossover but it just stayed on the subs. I guess there's a few different options.)
