More train service cancellations yesterday afternoon (23rd Dec) due to  ' operational issues '.

What are these operational issues?  Is it not time the public was properly informed as to the true cause of this train service non-delivery roulette?

Time the Minister for Transport and his staff forget about prepared bull-dust responses from Queensland Rail and hit the truth for a change.

The rail fail mess has been a disaster for public transport confidence in SEQ.  Does the Government really appreciate the impact the constant random non delivery of train service had on the public?  Missed connections, missed appointments, missed childcare pickups and increased costs, lost wages, dollars spent on taxis, general angst and annoyance and major inconvenience.

So the next phase is the Summer School Holiday Train Timetable (SSHTT).  As we have pointed out previously, this is just a further reduction in service delivery with more haphazard connections.  Again we call for off peak fares only for the SSHTT.  The SSHTT is delivering off peak service levels for peaks so it is only reasonable that fares be off peak for the duration of the SSHTT which is 28th December 2016 through to the 22nd January 2017.

What a sad situation to see a once competent rail operation reduced to a shambles.

Why didn't they just release a special Xmas Day timetable instead of pretending to do a normal Sunday one until the latter minute and then randomly cancelling services.  Who is actually running timetabling at QR? A preschooler?

My friend decided to go for a ride to Rosewood for the free trips. He is a bit of a train nut you could say.
He just wanted to take some pictures of the NGR along the way as he had not yet seen them in the flesh.
Anyway, on the return from Rosewood, he arrives at Ipswich to change trains for the City.
He then found out the next train to the City would be in 3 hours. He started to panic as he suffers from Asperger's.

Luckily the station staff picked up on his distress and told him they will order a Cab to get him back to Brisbane.. His plan was to meet up with me on my shift.

So I found out that the Cab fare cost QR $105.00 from Ipswich to Roma Street... Got to wonder how much QR spent on Cabs for Sunday.

ps.. He did get some good pics of the NGR units outside the maintenance sheds.
