Commuters in Brisbane enjoyed free travel on public transport after a glitch in the system that made the morning commute a nightmare for some.

With the problem now dealt with, it got us thinking, where are the best train systems in the world?

Tim Fisher former deputy prime minister, and a train buff who authored "Trains Unlimited in the 21st century" joined the program to fill us in.
