Can confirm this closure is still in place south of Beenleigh. Unfortunately, there are no replacement buses currently available, and the QR staff at Beenleigh seem to have no idea what is happening (not their fault; obviously poor communication from higher-up).

Quite typical of the poor operational practice I've experienced over the years when it comes to unplanned closure. Not good enough, QR/Translink.

Edit: now onboard a bus @ 0553, 35 minutes after the train arrived!

^ and this is the problem with having "silos" that don't communicate with each other. Why should the travelling public have to check different FB feeds, depending on their transport mode?

HappyTrainGuy

Another problem is also arranging buses. Buses for the closure have come from as far as wide bay and northern nsw transit.

Truck into the underpass at Corinda just after 8. Very substantial delays. Nothing mentioned on anything translink related. Trains are now resumed but there are still delays as out of peak trains are stopped and need to be turned around between stations.

Yes, nothing reported via Translink :conf:

Services had resumed before that tweet so go translink. Would have been over 60 mins. The line was completely shut for ~20 minutes with the up sub first reopening being the only operational line for revenue and dead running trains in both directions (gotta love that 4th unelectrified line) with trains operating at restricted speeds. Another 15 mins later the line was reopened but there was the back log of trains to clear in multiple forms (including the inbound cancelled trains at Darra). Due to dead runners occupying Corinda priority was given to outbound services to clear first. I believe one train ran dead via tennyson-Sherwood however that had problems due to park road-Corinda dead runners occupying the tracks. It only got the chance to do this as the backlog was clearing.

The disruption meant that today's middle-of-the-day northbound Gympielander was running 15 minutes late through Cooroy.

Bridge strike at Corinda this morning caused significant delays. Have heard the truck damaged a mainline bridge and it may be up to a week before it will reopen to rail traffic!

Wednesday and Thursday. Might be the days to avoid the rail network.

The bus network is in a state of disarray as well ( https://railbotforum.org/mbs/index.php?topic=15577.0 )

Things are not going well for PT in SEQ is an understatement  :woz:
