Great to see a variety of rollingstock in use on the other lines.
Note the strong presence of the 6 car EMUs on the Ipswich-Caboolture runs (our busiest corridor!!)
Just how I like it.
Long live the EMUs!!!!!
If you can, take some snaps tomorrow of the massive duplication/triplication works north of Caboolture and the new station works at Beerburrum.
Dwarfs the Gold Coast line!!!
Watch this sleeping giant!!!!
Enjoy the trip tomorrow and don't fall asleep between Pomona and Traveston = much in need of realignment!!

Hi Brad,

Yes, the works are very impressive.  Managed a few photos some are here --> http://railbotforum.org/mbs/index.php?topic=624.msg2704#msg2704

There is a lot happening up north for sure!

It was a most enjoyable trip today.  This has to be one of the best secrets in SEQ!

QR should promote this as a tourist trip too!   :D

Light loading heading to Gympie North, but the up train was quite full by Nambour.

And all the better because travel was free!  GO!!

Radio 612 ABC Brisbane conducted a short interview about the 2008 Easter Tour today (March 24)!

Thanks for the opportunity 612 ABC Brisbane and Spencer Howson.

Spencer's blog entry can be found here --> http://blogs.abc.net.au/queensland/2008/03/robert-rides-th.html

The 612 ABC Brisbane blog is here --> http://blogs.abc.net.au/queensland/612_breakfast/index.html

Still time for a free ride or two today folks!

Rosewood today for me and that will complete the entire QR Interurban network  :)

It has been a worthwhile opportunity to travel the network in its entirety in a few days and allows for the  appreciation of the complexity and the fact that we do have an excellent suburban network.  A few more trains to allow increased frequency of services and it will help a lot to ease the chronic road and bus congestion in SEQ.

LOL, taking early morning nambourlander to the coast again on Sunday (easter) morning. I wonder if that single track will be any different? HA naive thinking
Train leaves central 6:30am, bus rolls into Caloundra 8:30am..

Chances are there would be less freight traffic due to the holiday, but the question is more of will track failure hit anywhere between Bowen Hills and Landsborough/Nambour (higher chance of it being on the north of Beerburrum single track).
