SEQ:  The good news, Richlands railway means more trains between Darra and the CBD from morning to night!

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport commuters has highlighted that since the interim train timetable for Richlands commenced on Monday this week there are now more train services for stations between Darra and the CBD (1).

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"An interim timetable for train services to and from Richlands commenced on Monday the 24th January (1).  This interim timetable will remain until the new Caboolture - Ipswich timetable is implemented later this year.  However, there is already a much improved train frequency at all stations between Darra and the CBD now that Richlands is open, and this will be further improved when the final timetable is implemented.  This makes public transport more attractive as the wait time is now not generally longer than 15 minutes outside peak times, shorter waits during peak time of course."

"For example for Oxley there are now an additional 20 rail services inbound and outbound on a weekday (2)."

"This is good news and needs to be communicated to the travelling public. Frequent services makes public transport a much more attractive option, which reduces congestion costs, reduces road trauma costs and lessens environmental impacts. Frequent services improves the fare-box!"

"Passengers who use western bus services for a CBD commute on congested chaotic roads may now like to consider using rail as a fast stress-free alternative."

Long delays on west side of Brisbane

Bus services operating on Brisbane's west are experiencing long delays of up to 30 minutes due to several earlier traffic incidents.

Some affected routes include

     * 444
     * 411
     * 412
     * 415
     * 384
    * 385
    * 305

TransLink thanks you for your patience.
Affected Services

     * Route 305
     * Route 385
     * Route 411
     * Route 412
     * Route 415
     * Route 444
     * Route P384
     * Route undefined

Why is there NO reasonable attempt by both TransLink and Queensland Rail to actually inform the travelling public that there are now many more services on the western rail line between CBD and Darra,  which with some further feeder bus support will be a much better outcome for all?

Frankly, we are very disappointed with the 'cone of silence'.

Best wishes
Robert

I wonder if the Queensland Government has one of these somewhere in their offices LOL...

(PS: What happened to the orange rubbish bin survey done last year!)

Use the 'busway on steel wheels'? Nah, just let the passengers stew in congestion for the next 30-60 minutes.  :thsdo
