SEQ: Oxley bus stop B is not even B class

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport commuters has called for Oxley Bus Stop B to be fixed.  Standing as a testament to bureaucratic bungling for close to 12 months now, it is clearly time for the main players to get over organisational differences and sort it out.

Robert Dow, spokesperson for RAIL Back On Track said:

"Oxley citizens and commuters observe the Oxley bus stop B with some fascination and bemusement.  Temporary construction barriers have been where the bus stop should be for around an year now, and the bus stop sign placed down towards the the subway entrance."

"It is believed that a minor non compliance with some standards concerning slopes is the cause for this testament to smart state bungles."

"Can someone please stand up and fix the bus stop please? And while you are at it can something be done about the subway too? Seepage on the walls, constant water on the floor and now cracks in the concrete don't give a good impression for a station that is undergoing a major tax payer funded upgrade."

I have received advice that works will start in the near future to complete the ramp and the bus stop.

The water in the subway is being investigated as to a solution.

Which will no doubt consist of an inflatable raft and a paddle.  Patch work transport!!!

At least there isn't any sewerage smell like Indooroopilly subway of old - although the sewerage smell still exists west of the station - very badly on some days.

Greetings,

Well some good news.  We found out through flyers stuck on car windscreens and dropped around Oxley.

Remedial works are to occur to sort out the problems with the ramp and the consequent temporary positioning of Oxley bus stop B.
Another period of major disruption for residents in Ardoyne Road and Oxley citizens and commuters generally.

It would be refreshing if major infrastructure projects were actually done right first time.  The failure to build the 4th platform at Oxley, and electrify the UP suburban line (the so called freight line) from Corinda to the point opposite Sussanah Street Oxley means it will have to be rectified around 2015 according to the Inner City Capacity Rail Study.  This will be very expensive.
