What are some major missing links around the network that prevent easy access to stations, or indeed cause long detours in our suburbs.
Would be good to get a working list that we could put to the minister.
It could eventually form the basis of a package of works spread around SEQ/

I'll start.

-Drews Road to Edens Landing station (Over Logan River)
-Eight mile Plains to Brisbane Technology Park/Bulimba Creek Bikeway
-Parkwood east  to Moldendinar
-Varsity lakes to Reedy Creek
-Between Foxwell road and Yawalpah Rd (long gap)
-Goldmine Rd Ormeau across M1 between residential areas.
-Shalier Pioneer Park across M1
-Griffth Uni in direction of Loganlea across Logan Motorway
-Drewvale to Stretton
-Pallara to Algester (Nottingham Rd)
-Pallara to Algester (Sheep station Gully)
-Riverview station to Moggil
-Sherwood Station/Arboretrum to Lone Pine Sanctuary
-Tarragindi to Greenslopes Hospital
-Roghan Rd (Broken up by Caboolture line and Gympie Arterial)
-Bald Hills to Griffin across Pine River
-Junction Road Griffin to Barwon St Murrumba Downs
-Venture Drive Griffith to MBRL Cycleway / Mango Hill station
-Timbury st to Krake Pl Mango Hill
-Between Plantation Rd and Boundary Rd across Bruce
-Pitt Road to Creek Road Burpengary
-Callaghan Rd Narangba over rail corridor
-Coach Rd East and West burpengary (Connect North Harbour to Burpengary)
-Palmview Forest to Palmview/Sippy Downs

A second point. Why dont we have "state controlled cycleways"?
In the same way that there are state controlled roads that form the arterial road network, why cant the state bypass LGAs and deliver these? It would avoid issues like the Northern cycleway getting delayed by councils

A personal "favourite" of mine: Old Northern Road to/from De Vito Pl, McDowall

- South Bank Train Station P1 from Tribune St. Transferring between bus and rail is unnecessarily longer than it needs to be, not sure why this wasn't fixed when they just upgraded P1 (but not P2/3).

- Keperra to The Gap. There is a fire-trail type thing through Keperra Bushland but there needs to be a higher profile active transport link between the 2 suburbs. It's pretty much impossible to cross Keperra Hill by anything other than a car (unless you're crazy enough to ride over Settlement Rd by bike or patient enough to wait for the 362).

- Ferny Hills to Keperra Station. Of course a public path through a golf course probably isn't the best course of action (if you pardon the puns) but still is a significantly long detour to access rail for that area (noting the lack of service the 398 provides)

- Rocklea Station to Muriel Ave

- Independently constructed subdivisions and urban expansion that end up with (insert profanity here) like this (moreso a local council issue but still needs to be addressed):

- Jindalee to DFO: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/-27.532152,152.9453523/-27.531984,152.9482023/@-27.5314873,152.9463696,900m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!4m1!3e2

- Sherwood to Lone Pine (5th Green Bridge @BCC *hint hint*)

- Bracken Ridge Rd to Feuerriegel Rd, Bald Hills

- Loganholme to Griffith Uni/Loganlea

- Hope Island Rd across the M1 (even with the upgrade, there is no pedestrian access east/west across this bridge).

- Viola Place to the Gateway bikeway, Eagle Farm

- Literally less than 50m of unconnected footpath along Beaudesert Road, Algester

(and then again for another 200m south of there) (and then again between Highlands Dr and near Compton Rd) (and also between Bradman St and Learoyd Rd)

- Ashridge Rd to Enlgefield St, Oxley

- Tintara St to Ridley Rd, Carseldine

- Fitzgibbon to Dorville Rd

I know there are plenty more simple ones out there, I just can't remember off the top of my head.

Stillwater

Sounds like the basis of a campaign .... 2032km of new active transport paths by the year 2032.

Redrient

I'd like to add to the list the entire suburb of Griffin (perhaps the best access point is Venture Drive) and access to Mango Hill railway station and the bikeway that runs parallel to the train line (and by extension, this would facilitate access to North Lakes without having to go over the highway twice) - which came up at the recent meeting with the Minister, so it's probably well-known already.

MBRC did a serious study and proposal to put a path through from Dinterra Av to Jane St, but it didn't proceed for whatever reason.

Another couple more could include:

- Skygate to Cresent Ave/Clarke St (Hendra)

- Greenslopes Station to the south-western side of the M3 (Arnwood Place), in addition to the Greenslopes Hospital mention above

- Banyo/Nudgee to Boondall (noting the Gateway bikeway has recently opened but can be a large deviation for most compared with the train line)

- Yarradale St to Newmarket Pool/Sedgley Park, noting that the Frederick St/Mina Pde bridge is currently being rebuilt as we speak (for pedestrians/cyclists only)

- Hornby St to McConaghy St

- Shetland St connection, Morningside

Google Maps seems to now show a path connection between the bus stop and De Vito Place, however based on everything I can gather (street view and recent aerial images), there is no gap in the sound barrier at all through there. Pedestrians have to walk all the way up to the Allamanda St bus stop via Halleys Cres, even though there's a bus stop literally right there.
