What's happening with that exit at the bottom right? Is it going to allow busses to turn right onto Creek Road?

I'm not too clear on what's actually changing here functionally.

The only change I can detect on the face of it apart from general amenity upgrades is that the car parking between the station and Creek Road is going to be replaced with more and better positioned layover bays - so mostly operational benefits.

We need to move away from these terminator/detour  stations at shopping centres and make them in line/on road BRT/light rail stations!

I think the terminating stations provide some benefit, however i think a mix of both would be better. That way terminating services have a space to pull up and get out of the way whilst continuing services dont get slowed down by the circuitous detour required at the current interchanges.

The consultation page is not very clear. But comparing with satellite image on Google maps (and some local knowledge) it appears to be at least a partial demolition and rebuild of the actual bus stops and waiting areas to realign and reposition them slightly. This makes room to build a proper kiss and ride area. Then the other side they are removing the small "park and ride" (~15 spaces?) to add layover bays and then landscape the rest.

Quoteimprove efficiency of bus operations at the bus facility, in particular during peak periods and special events

I'm not aware of special event services using the interchange...but it is close to the Murarrie Recreation Reserve which will be an Olympics venue.

Of course peak periods operations would be best improved by consolidating routes and feeding to the Cleveland line  :frs:

Why are there terminating services?  The service should just keep going till they reach the end of the line.  People get on and people get off.

I think because interchanges like this are often a logical termination point.

Eg somewhere like Garden City has services finishing there.

Drivers need to eat, urinate and rest.  They need facilities for that, and it makes sense to put them where drivers can congregate to do those things (which will pretty much always tend to be at a key interchange).
