Both the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast line had very solid patronage growth in FY 2022/23.

Imagine what the Sunshine Coast line could achieve with decent frequency.

Airtrain strong growth as tourist market starts to boom.

Could probably say the same for the GC line. As someone who travels on it on weekends fairly often, trains are frequently packed to the rafters between about 10am-4pm.

I think it could easily support 15 minute headways even now between Varsity Lakes and Ormeau.  Just turn every second train back at Ormeau until it becomes possible to run every train to and from the city.

I'm just not sure if there is room in the Robina yard but more stabling will be needed eventually which the new Ormeau facilities will provide.  Until then, there should be comfortably enough room south of the Stapley Drive overpass just past Varsity Lakes to fit a small yard catering to 4 x 6 car trains within the existing reservation and formation - maybe more depending on layout and whether 3 roads would fit.

Both GC and SC patronage would start to look like Perth, pre-covid 20 million p.a. each, roughly doubling rail patronage on the rail network.

Is it possible to have a summary of all lines by number of pax rather than percent. Its difficult going into separate line by line threads trying to piece it together.

^ just a matter of combining in a spreadsheet.  I will endeavour to do for the 23/24 when available.

Here is a table for FY 22/23
