Today, the Census data has been released. It will be interesting how this affects public transport planning here in Qld.

Brisbane Times--->Census reveals Queensland's fastest-growing areas

QuoteGreater Brisbane has become even greater, with the latest census data showing the region's population has grown by almost a quarter in the past decade.

Census data, released on Tuesday, showed the population had grown 22.28 per cent since 2011, from 2,065,996 to 2,526,238, more than enough to fill the Gabba 10 times over.

This is why we need improved public transport infrastructure and better service frequency, as well as expanded retail hours in the region.

Service Frequency of 20 mins or better as a min will truly improve things, as well as an expanded inner city trading zone that reflects the trading hours in Newstead. Having stores able to trade from 6am until 10pm in the following high density areas of Fortitude Valley, City, Petrie Terrace, Milton, Toowong, West End, Woolloongabba and Kangaroo Point will really improve things and take pressure off the two only open supermarkets open till 10pm in Newstead and New farm.

I would expect it to be like all the prior one's.. generally ignored at least on the Sunshine Coast.
Sad to be so cynical - but it becomes a clash of a cynic with a realist.
