New Ferry Express buses for Manly Wharf
Start: 29/07/2013 12:00 AM

Starting 29 July, 320 new express bus services a week will be introduced on four new routes to take customers to and from Manly Wharf to catch their ferry. The new peak bus services are to be trialled between Manly Wharf and Balgowlah Heights, Manly Vale, North Curl Curl and North Balgowlah.

Every weekday* morning 28 extra services will arrive at Manly Wharf to connect customers to ferry services departing for the CBD between 6:10am and 8:50am. In the afternoon an extra 36 buses will connect with ferry services arriving between 3:30pm and 7:20pm to take customers home.

The Ferry Express bus services have been designed to pick up from central shopping areas and provide an express service to Manly Wharf. The buses will enable more customers to use the ferry service in peak times.

These new services will provide more opportunities for customers to use public transport to get to and from work each day and represent another step towards a more integrated transport network.

*Running every weekday except public holidays.

Not sure this will work.  Apparently the Manly daily ran with fares will be in line with MyZone.  Well who would want to pay more for a half hourly feeder service to a very slow ferry?

^ I suppose there is some potential for people to catch the fast ferry instead without having to drive to the wharf/Corso area.

Congestion on Military Rd is going nowhere soon...

Yep.  Although that's a pretty expensive trip with a MyBus1 and then the private ferry.
