Shane (RTT) Fare structure

I've used Simon's as a template and made some changes

Fare Structure

Dynamic Distance based as the crow flys in 500m blocks starting 1km from point of alightment.
Mode of transport is irrelevent
Allow 60min interchange between modes until 15min frequency on all inner city rail services, then reduce 30min during this time of operation.
(as crow flys provides incentive by operators and TL to remove less direct routes including realignment of rail)

CBD bounded by Milton, Ekka, Bowen hills and sth Bank is called the city zone, and movement within this area is flag fall only per ride.

All stations would have similar maps to no for Zones, but it would based on the location of that station.
Top up machines would have simple interactive map. ie you are Here and then place marker or touch where you want to go and cost appears.

Fare Products

I suppose stick with Senior's+ card, SEEQ card on the grounds that there is no compelling reason to remove them.

Keep Translink access Pass.

The rest - go card only.  Remove paper.

Cap of $50 per day per Go-card which is just over the cost of CBD-Gympie Return. Encourages tourist usage and locals.

Concessions

Allow Health care cardholders to access concession prices, otherwise as present.

Health care, OAP, seniors card etc that use peak only get 50% discount of normal peak fare.

Unemployed do not get discounts for travelling in peak more than 4 times per week.

Levels

Peak adult one zone fare = $1.00 for first km, then incremental at 7c/500m linear.
(I don't see any reason to see arbitary barriers in unknow places where the rate suddenly changes in cost/km)

Off peak

50% discount for
- Legs of journey that are completed before 7am M-F
- Legs of journey that are started after 9am and complete prior to 4pm M-F
- Legs of journey that are started after 6pm M-F

(Leg I mean if you go say bus then train, the bus journey might fall in Off-peak, but train is in peak, so one fare is off-peak rates the other is peak fare rates)

Deposit

$15 for Adults card, $10 for child

Money is refunded direct to your credit of go-card balance once you reach say $200 within 3mths period. ie you are a regular user and not gone into debt for more than 48hr. (after this for discount/child user)

For those who give direct debit details on WWW, the money is refunded after $100 in within 2mths.

Fines
Failure to travel without a valid Gocard, $200 + 10 x fare 1st offence, $500 + 20 x fare for 2nd and $1000 for 3rd and ongoing.

Registered Go-cards left/abandoned in debt
Fare recovery + $500 fine

On Buses

Sell one off travel cards in even $1 units starting at $2. Not refundable or top-up able.

Topups

- Go-card topup machines to be placed on every railway and ferry station, all bsuway stations + major bus stations and many buses.
- Major shopping centres and other popular venues
- Top via online via auto top available such that once you drop below say $10, the system does an automatic transfer of a nominated amount and sends SMS to confirm
- SMS ability to request a top up to Translink system, you enter the amount.
