With Sandgate being upgraded with lifts, is it time for all Inbound trains to be sent through Platform 2. The Idea of a waste of potential seams so stupid to me especially with the odd train that does use that platform that confuses people.

The current reason (prior to the works - the platform 2 road is currently/has been offline since March/April or something during the works) for all trains using platform one was due to the lack of DDA complience of platform #2 ie people in wheelchairs couldn't use the footbridge or the stairway to access the road from the platform to cross the tracks effectivley leaving them stuck on the platform. There was also issues around dropping off passengers on the platform 2 side ie blocking access to the entire street/walkway and the transit times/difficultly between accessing between buses/trains. When the lifts get installed and a few other improvments it might be likely that fulltime access to platform 2 would be during peak hour or when the timetable reshuffle for the subs is in play ;)
