The SEQ Affordability Calculator is an online tool to work out the real costs of housing choice, giving you the opportunity to make informed decisions about where you would want to live and in what type of home.

The real cost of housing is worked out by combining the costs of housing and the costs of travel to and from work, schools, shops, services and other facilities.

Based on your input the calculator will generate an index. A score of 100 equals the average real housing costs in South East Queensland. A score higher than 100 indicates higher than average real housing costs and a score below 100 indicates a lower than average real housing cost.

Strange: I entered my address and two person's work addresses - one works at home, the other in the CBD. The calculator told me the journeys to work were each 25,984km! Perhaps that was a lifetime, but even so, working at home the journey from the bedroom to bathroom to kitchen etc and finally to the home office isn't going to be 26k km... :conf
