The major reason to increase the standing benchmark is to allow Gold Coast trains to pick up at Coopers Plains.  Central-Coopers Plains is a 21 minute run for a Gold Coast train.  Central-Morningside is also a 21 minute run.

I have to wonder if it is possible to compress the timetable to make Central-Coopers Plains a 20 minute run when not serving Park Rd?

QR has been relaxing timetables for years now so I am sure things could be tightened a little to get around the bench mark.

Trains running slower has been due to two things.
1. them being overloaded and therefore taking longer for people to squeeze on
2. People Being selfish - standing at the doorways and not moving down the aile
                                 - people refusing to get up before the train gets to the station then darting for the door once it has stopped and blocking people getting on.
