15 minute to Murrarie?

I realise the massive infrastructure problems with 15 minute to Cleveland but am wondering if it's possible to have 15 minutes to Murrarie?  This would cover most of the highest density areas on the inner Cleveland line (Coorparoo/Norman Park/Morningside/Cannon Hill)

I'm not sure how much it would cost but would it be possible to electrify the 4th road at Murrarie and build a platform there to use for terminating services?

There seems to be crossovers just to the east of Queensport Rd that would allow up services to transfer back to the correct road fairly quickly (yeah, conflicting moves etc etc but considering the amount of traffic this line carries outside peak would it really be a major issue?)

Also seeing as TransLink wants to feed buses into high capacity rail services, could buses from points further east (Wynnum/Manly/Tingalpa) feed into Murrarie via Murrarie Rd.  It looks like (from Google Maps) that there's already space for a  bus to turn around there on the southern carpark.

Go on to Manly or Lota.  No reason to stop at Murrarie.

Its an unideal location for a terminus/turnback anyway as its the major junction between the freight lines, crossing loops and Fishermans Island.

Doesn't duplication end at Manly? I'm thinking points beyond would be problematic for 15 minute frequency in that case.

Lota wouldn't work out if the cross remains at Thorneside, but if you moved the cross to Wellington Point, Lota is indeed achievable, and it means not blocking a running line, even if there wouldn't be much leeway between Manly and Lota.

Forget Murrarie, HTG pretty much covered it with the problems of turning back at that location.  The old Murrarie starters/terminators IIRC had complaints from train crews as they had to turnback beyond the platform at Murrarie out in an open location near the bridge (where the Gateway flies over the railway), so they moved it to Cannon Hill to turnback there, back in 2009.

Simon, I know you keep saying Lota, but personally as someone who uses this line a lot and for many years, and even knows some of the staff on this line, Manly would be far more ideal than Lota for various reasons.  There isn't much at Lota anyway, except for a school and a skate park.

As I said above, Lota would only make sense if the cross is moved from Thorneside to Wellington Point.  I think there might be issues with blocking a running line at Manly in that scenario.

Not in the scheduling exercises I've done in the past.

Care to post such exercises here?
