^Thats probably the simplest solution IMO

It would also solve some of the northern busway issues regarding cpacity/service numbers.

Quotebut offering a faster service via the CC Bridge seems worthwhile to me
AM Peak
9 Mins Buranda-KGS on 111 arriving 8:02 AM
8 Mins Buransa-KGS on P88 arriving 8:01 AM

Offpeak
9 Mins Buranda-KGS on 111 arriving 11:21 AM
8 Mins Buranda-KGS on P88 arriving 11:16 AM

PM Peak
12 Mins KGS-Buranda on 111 departing  5:29 PM
9 Mins KGS-Buranda on P88 departing 5:33 PM

1 Minute saving generally? 3 minutes at best in PM peak? Sounds like a pretty pathetic time saving I'm sorry and I personally couldn't justify a service on those grounds.

My preferred option for Wishart is for its basic service to be a 4bph shuttle to Garden City, with some through services in Peak Hour.
Area doesn't warrant a full time direct CBD service IMO.
Queens Wharf Rd no doubts reduces the advantage heading north.  This needs to be bypassed (for George St) if Parliament is to be served anyway.

Heading south it's 8 vs 11 minutes.

There is also serving Parliament reasonably, which is not so now.

111's should be extended north.
I'd sooner extend them south, to take in the 555.

I understand that a 111+333 was planned at one point, but the likely reliability changed their mind.

I think this will be possible in the near future though - the Northern busway is very far progressed actually, I went past it today and I was VERY impressed!
Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

At least it would have been a service to the northside.

But a 330 BUZ is a bad idea?

162?

Talk about a red herring.
An extended 111 to QUT, or a full replacement of the 333 with just a 111 is not the same issue as the 330 (The debate with that centers around feeding rail versus competing with it on CBD trips)

That only applies in peak hour and only serves Garden City and 8mp.  Alright to transfer to a 150/156 but not 120/130/140/180/222/250 or their rockets.

I don't see that it is, FWIW.

The issue I have with the 330 being a buz is that north of Chermside its just a shite, poorly designed network made in pretty much the mid to late 1990's when BT was competing against QR for patronage that Translink shows no intrest in improving. No good rail feeders (People that live that far out should be using that mode to get to the city or fed into interchanges to Transfer). Buses that aren't reliable. Routes focusing on going to the city. Routes that go on tours. Actual good feeder services are poorly run. Peak hour routes that bypass key areas (335/339+340/341). Areas that don't have any coverage what so ever. Routes not extending futher (335 to Boondall even though it forms the 338 to Boondall. 340 terminating at Carseldine - Why not extend it to the Taigum interchange via Fitzgibbon/Rogan Road). Hourly or even worse bus frequencies. A route that has better coverage and more opportunties to feed into 7 schools, 3 major interchanges, 3 shopping complexes, a pretty popular and well used RSL along with servicing areas that nothing else goes near it are only run 5 times a day on a 2 hour frequency. Nudgee private school provides better/frequent coverage than Translink does in some areas. Bus routes converging on the same area within a 5 minute span then nothing for 30-60 minutes. Excluding the 330, 340 and 345 directly north of Chermside the routes are only hourly. 6-8pm buses start to dissapear. Half the routes in the area don't run on Sundays. Routes that don't feed near by areas. The fact that its an actual option to go from Bracken Ridge to Sandgate station through to Taigum Interchange to Geebung station then transfer to the train to Strathpine sums up how great the network is for bracken ridge. The same in morning peak hour. Wanna get to Bracken Ridge from Strathpine the only way is to go via Zillmere/Chermside until the first 327 at 9ish. Simply providing a decent network first might not even require a 330 buz.

Why not cull 330 at Chermside and use the 111+333 to get people to City - Chermside.

Perhaps in these changes we can get the 339 going via Chermside to take advantage of the Northern Busway, with a different route covering Webster Rd from Chermside Markets.

You don't see that would be a disincentive to PT use?

Gazza

If the resources freed from the culling were put into other services in the area, I think it would actually provide an incentive to use PT, because services are largely shite at present, as HTG says.

I've suggested that a few times before with the 340/341 covering it along with culling it at Chermside with more 325 covering Hamilton/Webster Roads - City. I think it might have been my first reply in the northern busway thread along with mentioning during my random Ellision Road 335 rants :P

Can't be worse than what it currently already is considering a large amount of people currently bail from the 335/325 to transfer to (depending on the time) the 330/333/340.

But you also need to cover Webster Rd between Hamilton Rd and Gympie Rd IMO.  Perhaps people can be asked to walk to either road along Hamilton Rd.

The usual 340 route/370 extension to Aspley?  :D

Doesn't run in the peak direction at present.  Pretty sure you already know that though so I think you are joking, I just don't get it??

Currently :P haha.

Personally I think there doesn't need to be a 341 going via Gympie road. By all means retain the via the Valley scenic route but send it via Gympie/Webster/Hamilton/Gympie roads. If it angers a few locals in Bridgeman downs/Carseldine because its a few minutes longer offer more 340s going to Carseldine in the morning/from Carseldine in the arvos so it can be used as a bus+train service again. People that live off Webster road don't all work in the city. Quite alot of people that work at Westfield do live close by.
