Seeing double?

QuoteYou may have seen our new double-decker bus running around on route 315 (Redcliffe - City) recently.

Standing over four metres tall and weighing in at 21 tonnes, our new bus has certainly drawn a few looks from customers and passers-by. Some of you have even tweeted us about it or called 13 12 30 to ask if it's a regular service.

Please treat our double-decker like any other bus - just touch on and touch off with your go card as usual. There's no extra fare and it's a regular scheduled service, it just looks a little different! So get on board.
Quick facts

Our double-decker can carry up to 96 passengers (double a standard bus).
Stands over four metres tall and weighs 21 tonnes.
To get around, these buses have dual-steering axles at the front and a single axle at the rear.
It's all part of a trial with Hornibrook Bus Lines and Gold Coast-based bus manufacturer, BusTech.

Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...

took it today and i gotta say quite impressive. Smooth ride (and for sandgate road thru clayfield thats saying something) Views are awesome up top. If this is the future of buses then its a bright future. And the fact that it carries almost double passengers is excellent. double decker trains in nsw for some strange reason only carry an extra 30 percent so it makes these buses all the more worth while.

I wonder how these things handle angles such as hilly areas.

Would it be possible to run this on route 385? Just wondering?

Other than the same issue Simon and I discussed in the other double decker bus thread RE: INB/QSBS portal the only thing stopping it being used on the 385 could be turning around at the end of the route (not sure how it's turning circle compares to a 'normal' bus), which once the new Park n' Ride is completed won't be an issue with the new turnaround.
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
