Currently there are 3/4 ways this is served.
1) 103 which currently leaves from Railway Pde
2) 451 leaving from Manburgh Tce in peak
3) 468 which leaves from Oxley
4) 468 leaving from Indooroopilly.

This isn't so bad when you are leaving McPherson Rd, but not so good when you are going home to there.  Multiple routes on an hourly frequency from different locations?  What's that?

Here's a map what I would envisage the revamped 103 to look like: http://www.whereis.com/?id=3FB02C5C527294

Map?

Centenary Suburbs and Northwestern Suburbs are at the bottom of the PT black hole.
Whoever designed Seventeen Miles Rocks Road layout - aaargh!!

As I have previously expressed, until a Centenary BUZ becomes reality, we need to leave these routes alone.

Post Centenary BUZ, get rid of the 468 serving McPherson Rd. The 103 would need a major frequency upgrade, especially during the peaks, if we are to consider removal of the 451.

Looking at the timetable, at this very moment, it's best to leave all three routes alone. 103 and 468 are hourly services, and only complement each other on the weekends, when the service intervals are much more spaced out. On weekdays, the services clump up quite a bit, causing duplication and waste. Perhaps TransLink should review this...

I do like the re-routed 103, but that leaves a small section of Darra unserviced (Cardiff Rd South). This section is very popular with those heading towards Inala. Something to consider?

And what's wrong with the 451? It seems to only use up 1 bus for its entire service span. There are other routes where more would be gained from deleting it (i.e. 461 - 3 buses AM peak + 4 buses PM peak...). It is a very well patronised route, considering the very small area that it services.

Problem with the 451 is in the PM it comes on the opposite side of the train station to the 103 but then goes to almost completely the same place.

That is a problem, especially if McPherson Rd isn't served by the 468.  If the 468 remains as is then Monier Rd isn't far away.

Stuff like this is silly. You can't wait in two places at once (motorists would say, can't park in two places at once!). Where do you wait if you want to go to destination X?
This is why stops need to be consolidated or, if they can't for geometric reasons, a PID display screen should be set up like at Richlands to display where and when the next
bus is going.

But, yes I agree, TransLink needs to review

1. Northwest
2. Bulimba
3. Centenary Suburbs

Got to say that I'm pretty disappointed in results like this.  Even though the current system is failing, people apparently are loath to see any development of it.  ::)

I agree. It's called inertia, it's called denial, it's called resistance to change.
It's one reason I'm so ruthless when I hear things like "Save our local legacy route".

This is my local route.
Basically, its a bugger because there are 3 places someone in McPherson Rd would want to go....Mt Ommaney, Oxley, and Darra, and you cant really do 3 on the one route.

I reckon a more frequent 103 is the main priority TBH. With the 476 being the full time route. Drop the 468.
