Acknowledgements for SEQ Public and Active Transport under the former government

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public
transport and an advocate for public transport passengers wishes to acknowledge the contributions
towards Active and Public Transport under the previous government.

RAIL Back on Track acknowledges the contribution by the previous government, in particular the former
transport ministers Annastacia Palaszczuk MP and Rachel Nolan. Under the previous government, the
world class busways were built and extended, Cross River Rail went from an idea to a comprehensive
proposal that is now deemed by Infrastructure Australia as 'ready to proceed'. Railways were extended
on the Gold Coast and towards Springfield during the previous government and Kippa-Ring finally got
a firm committment to the Moreton Bay Rail link. The Gold Coast also got its Light Rail system.

With the formation of TransLink, the integration of fares and ticketing and the move to the GoCard,
a revolution in transport occurred which has seen Public Transport usage in SEQ rise on trains, buses and ferries.
New trains and new station upgrades were also welcomed.

We would also like to extend our appreciation for the establishment of the Public Transport Advisory
Group and the willingness and openness to hearing our members' concerns. Thank you.

RAIL Back On Track re-affirms its willingness to work with any and all levels of government regardless
of political colour, and we look forward to working with the new government, new minister for transport
and new CEO of TransLink.
