LOVEBIRDS around Australia are professing their love with cards featuring Ipswich train stations.

Designers at Able and Game, a boutique Melbourne-based greeting card company, were inspired to release a pun-filled, romantic card series after travelling on the train line.

Titles in the range include "You're Wacol", "Goodna gracious me, you're great!", "I Sherwood like to date you", and "You're Milton my heart".

Able and Game co-owner Anna Blanford said the line had too much pun-potential to pass up.

"We started in Melbourne with an 'I'd go to Zone 2 for you' card and went from there," Ms Blandford said.

"We came up to Brisbane a couple of years ago and we spent the day on trains and there were some really good station names.

"We had looked at the train line before we came up and my boyfriend, my sister and I came up with some good puns."

Ms Blandford said they had chosen to focus on the Ipswich line rather than the Sydney public transport network purely based on the station names.

"The Ipswich line just had some amazing names, I don't know where they come from but they're great," she said.

She said taking the images used in the Ipswich series had proved challenging.

"We were worried we'd get stuck at stations because we'd jump out and back in, but we actually got stuck at Goodna for about an hour," she laughed.

Ms Blandford explained the process behind making the cards.

"I do the illustrating, so we fix the image up and then I draw over it," she said.

The cards retail for about $5.50 and are stocked in Brisbane.
