Ok, so we want 15min's on all lines, but since the introduction of Richlands line or is Richlands station? and the subsequent 15min service to Darra and Oxley, how has their ridership numbers changed in off-peak?

It's more than just that - it's the vastly better weekend services all the way to town too.

If we have figures for Oxley/Darra station entries/exits that should isolate the benefits of 15 minutes full time vs 30 minutes full time.  Only discrepancy is 101/102 at Corinda/Oxley.

Quite considerably but Transtink and the Government will only selectively release figures, they have both avoided the release of actual station usage over 24 hour periods instead releasing a sanatised version based on peak hour loadings   :thsdo

Reading off the 2010 survey's graph, Indooroopilly has around 3900 weekday entries 5:30 to 20:30 and Strathpine has around 1600.  Surely the 15 minute frequency at Indooroopilly is part of the reason.  Both have nearby decent shopping centres.

Just on a casual examination, it seems population density in the Indooroopilly are is somewhat higher than Strathpine. (appears to be a lot more units/townhouses etc than freestanding houses).  ABS figures suggest Indooroopilly around 1500 persons per sq km , Strathpine/Brendale 664.3.  This may be a bit skewed due to the large industrial are in Brendale though.

Also I'm not sure I could describe the Strathpine shopping centre as "decent".  >:D

If you work out boardings proportional to density apparently Strathpine turns out better!  :-w

Last time I went to Westfield Strathpine it was quote boganic.

Indooroopilly is more of a destination to me, with the shops, bus-train transfer (still poor), high density living etc. in the area. Strathpine is quite boring.

Personal value judgments don't make it any less of a major centre for the area.

Strathpine is quite a nice place.... depending on the time of day otherwise it screams Welcome to the hole. Night time all the bogans and ferrals from Bray Park/Lawnton make their way down and just loiter around. Puke always around the station on weekends, a nice collection of bottles and cans start forming, sketchy people constantly loitering in the railway carpark-Centrelink-Gympie Road-Westfield shops route, the only public walkway between Bald Hills-Strathpine would smash your nuts in if you rode across it on a bike (You thought the Palmwoods platforms were dodgy check out their wooden bridges :P). Take out the bogans, the ferrals from up north and the annoying imsohardcoreonmyscooter-school kids and its quite nice little place. Its no Indooroopilly at night but during the day its about the same.

I took a ride from the city to Oxley last thursday evening.  I was somewhat surprised by the patronage on the return leg to the CBD around 8pm, would have been around 100 pax by Indooroopilly. Appears as though the 15 min off-peak frequency is having some effect on increasing patronage.
