Good to see the LNP support 15min frequencies on the FG line, though I wonder, will they support it for other lines? (Or is this just because the FG goes through a certain electorate)  :hg +1 to them anyway!

Some of Anna's comments seem to suggest they were going to implement 15 minute running in the offpeak, but again this is news to us (and to QR apparently).

I would like to ask where is the "15 min off-peak frequency" mentioned in her "2030+" plan..

Looks like there has been a big swing on the RAILBOT Forum! :-c

Cf. Poll week 1 to Poll week 3

I put down LNP. Personally I think their threats to pull Cross River Rail are hollow and will dissipate post election.
People like benefits sooner rather than later; a frequency boost is much more real rather than something coming in 2030 or whatever.

LNP also has street credibility on the BUZ network of buses - outside of Brisbane, there really isn't much that even resembles BUZ.

Sigh. Anna Bligh is losing so much credibility by trying to make out that it was her intention all along to introduce frequent services.
This is retro-policy in action.

"We've already achieved it on the Darra line, we've already achieved it on the Northgate line and we'll achieve it it on the Ferny Grove line with a new duplication which is currently under construction by the middle of this year."

The Darra Line? The Northgate Line? I didn't know these lines were even called that.

What do the incumbent ALP have to say? A pamphlet given out by Kate Jones MP a few weeks ago vaguely mentioned peak service improvements, but there was no mention of off-peak improvements. Last year Ferny Grove MP Geoff Wilson was quoted as saying in the North West News that the Ferny Grove Line duplication would bring an extra 4 trains a day - so no 15 minute off-peak planned then! Now Premier Anna Bligh has waded in stating that "the plan to double services on a North Brisbane line was stolen from Labor", and that "Labor announced our intention for 15 minute train runnings in 2010". Really Anna? How come QR spokespeople have stated at CRG meetings last year that there were no plans for 15 minutes off-peak? How come MP Geoff Wilson didn't mention these extra train services last year? How come it wasn't mentioned in TransLink's network plan 2011/12? More plans, but no action Anna?

UrbanLink = 15 minute frequency between 6am and 9pm.  Everything else was still going to be half-hourly at best (eg outer Ipswich/Beenleigh/Caboolture and Gold Coast, most likely Doomben).

15 minute off-peak frequency was an aspirational goal dating back to when Lucas was Transport Minister - it was supposed to be implemented by 2010.

Consider this

1. I have a plan for X
2. We will spend $18 million on increased frequency once elected for FG line trains

Which one is stronger? It's (2).

One is just a plan, the other is a COMMITMENT.
Commitment trumps future faking, always.

I don't know if you can call it future faking if the people with (1) were the ones upgrading the infrastructure to allow you to do it reliably.

So they didn't make a media release and get their name in the paper about it, but in my opinion, actions speak louder than words.

They have had collectively nearly 20 years to upgrade frequency out of peak, and they haven't except for the extra runs between the city and Darra.  They could have started those without the Richlands line, so big whoop.

Katter's Australia Party has one big red double decker bus, does that help?
