CABOOLTURE and Sunshine Coast train lines will be closed between Northgate and Gympie North stations on
Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5

Buses will replace train on the Caboolture and Sunshine Coast train lines this weekend but the service is expected to add an extra hour to journeys.

The Caboolture line between Northgate and Caboolture stations and the Sunshine Coast line between Caboolture and Gympie North stations will be closed from the first train on Saturday (February 4) to the last train on Sunday (February 5).

Works being undertaken this weekend include:

• Narangba train station upgrade works

• Overhead power line improvements

• Track work and maintenance at various locations

TransLink spokesman Miguel Holland said buses would replace all inbound and outbound trains for customers between Northgate and Gympie North stations during the closure.

"People will still be able to get where they need to go but alternative services will be running," Mr Holland said.

"NightLink trains on the Caboolture line departing Roma Street station will terminate at Northgate station with buses stopping all stations from Northgate to Caboolture."

The South Pine Road level crossing at Strathpine will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic with alternate access to Brendale via Mott Street and Kremzow Road.

Also, single lane access only will be available at the Newman Road level crossing at Geebung during this weekend.

Customers with a disability should phone 3606 5555 or SMS 0428 774 636 for assistance.

People attending the NRL All Stars vs Indigenous All Stars rugby league clash at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast, Roger Waters at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday night or the Michael Parkinson concert at QPAC also on Saturday night should plan their journey with this closure in mind.

Normal train services will resume from first services on Monday, February 6.
