Hey, how about a Sunshine Coast rail bus?   ;D

Part of the 'slow boat to China' series.

Jonas Jade

How about just a CGI render of CRR - and the next transport series can be "wishful thinking"

Refer to the newspaper article at top of this post, literally postage stamps.

I've been in that very situation when a connection has been late. Almost half an hour wait & then it stops all stations to Ipswich. It was no laughing matter at the time.

If I'm ever in that situation again, I can now split the waiting time by catching a Richlands service to Darra. 15 mins in the CBD & then 15 mins at Darra.

The cheque's in the mail, HappyTrainGuy.  Wait, what?  Ohhhhh.

More seriously, it's hard not to lampoon Cr Quirk's fuss over stamps when he doesn't even have a Twitter account.

Not to mention that little kids think magazines are broken, and that the "Save" icon is increasingly meaningless

Yeah, from the city to Modbury.  Its a busway like ours except the road has been replaced by concrete rails.  The bus has little horizontal guide wheels on either side at the front.  Once on the O-bahn, the driver stops steering and lets the bus be guided by the rails but still operates the throttle and brakes.  The drivers love it because they can sit back and let it all happen (like a Shinkansen Motorman, or an MRT driver in Singapore).  Probably costs a hell of a lot less to build per km than Brisbane's busways too!

Debateable.  About the only advantage is absolute top-end speed, which is not significantly greater.  They have had huge problems with getting non-Mercedes buses to work on it adequately, which gives it all the worst characteristics of a monorail/Translohr type system where you are locked into a particular supplier.  As MAN and Scania have won all the recent Adelaide tenders on a competitive basis, they have shot themselves in the foot.
