Crossover(s) in the Corinda-Richlands project

I am wondering what value having the crossover allowing the inbound trains from Ipswich to access Darra platform 1 has.  I'm talking about the one at the top of the attached map.

I think that there is a huge need for a similar crossover, but on the Darra side of where the third track merges in to where there becomes two tracks.  That is the blue line in the attached map.  If the existing crossover is needed, I think there should have been two.

This would allow inbound freights even if 1500m long to refuge on the up main without blocking Ipswich bound passenger trains (which can use Darra #1) or the passenger trains from Ipswich.  I think this would help getting freight through the Wacol-Tennyson stretch enormously.  However, the focus is on grade separation.

Refer to post 6 below for image, Sherwood to Darra West.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It is for the freight trains essentially to get them onto the UP sub.  Many trains do use it, although clearly there were better options.

Attached map?
It is attached.  Not sure why some people can't see attachments.  Perhaps it is a browser issue.  I'll upload to a file sharing service probably over the weekend.

So you believe that it is, in fact, useful.  I still think there is a need for the blue crossover.

How do you attach files on here anyway? I've looked in the help section and the option to attach a file isn't where it says it should be (for me anyway).

Edit: It's fixed now. I can attach file and I can see your attachment now as well Simon

At the post box bottom left just click on the additional options tags.

It is best though to use an external image/photograph server as eventually all our web space goes and I have to remove them from the board anyway.
