Heidewitzka from SSC posted an idea on an infinty (sideways 8) style subway loops.
I took up the idea and made a map of a possible routing scheme

Both lines would be dual tracked for trains in each direction and they link up with: SEBusway NBusway Ipswich Line, Southside Lines and Northern Lines. It also has a stop at Suncorp that operates only on game days.
By loops I dont actually mean that one set of trains just loop the west wing and the other set loop the east wing. Rather they complete one wing then go on to complete the other.

I don't have an engineering background but it does look good from where I sit - great work.

A good idea, and certainly Brisbane needs improved transport around the inner city. It would be well suited to a automated people mover style metro such as a VAL system. Can I ask though, where in your layout would you put the depot?

On the down side, the priority for public transport spending should be on getting people into the city, so in my opinion a new N-S rail tunnel should be top priority before building an inner city people mover.

Well the eastern line goes close to mayne rail yards, so maybe a spur line could service a depot in the unused northern area of that

Response to Zoiks "Infinite plan".

Go Man Go !

Crikey great plan Zoiks. Gotta learn how to do that one day !
Certainly includes everywhere. Really like the inclusion of East BNE, St. Lucia and Hamilton areas. . .
and love the cross river links. Makes travel a breeze.
Also dig the options to transfer to different modes at several locations. e.g Taringa.

Really opens up the movement of people & of course the necessary (read ugly & greedy) development options for rejuvenating some areas.

You have alot to offer man !
Certainly want to hear more of your voice and plans later this year.

It would be good to ovelay the existing rail lines (used and not used for passenger rail), busways and BUZ routes not on the Busways.

Just for comparison.
