More NightLink services for the festive season!

More services are being added to the NightLink routes to get you home safely over the Christmas and New Year period.

    Christmas: Additional services for the christmas period will run every weekend from Friday 2 December until midnight Christmas Eve.

    New Year's Eve: Extra services will also be available on Saturday 31 December until the early hours of New Year's morning.

All the usual stops will be operating, and buses will be running every half an hour between 1.00am and 5.30am. Trains will also be running from around 4am, and the flat fare taxis will be in operation.

Good news for those along NightLink bus routes which receive a half hourly frequency including the Ferny Grove & Cleveland railway lines but there is still close to a 3 hour gap for the Ipswich, Caboolture & Beenleigh lines.

If buses can be provided every 30 minutes to Cleveland, then why can't they be provided to Ipswich, Caboolture or Beenleigh. I think that this needs to be raised with the former transport minister, the MP for Ipswich who is currently under considerable pressure. We may get a win out of this but I fear it's too late for this festive season as BCC buses weren't interested in providing services from Richlands to Springfield Central & Westside Bus don't have the resources to do so until February.

BTW: I won't be using a NightLink bus/train service to Ipswich anyway but the community deserves them. They will encourage some potential drivers off the road that would otherwise be over the blood alcohol limit.
