A question about process
« on: October 04, 2010, 01:29:49 PM »
We all see the Media Releases by Bob which are posted here and ultimately gain traction in the media.  Those Media Releases are put out under the name of Forum Members (eg "RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org\) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport commuters has called for a major shake up of Brisbane's current radial bus system.")

I know Bob is the moderator of this Forum and probably the person who got this group together in the first place, but it concerns me that there are Media Releases being made in the name of the Forum Members without any formal process for approving them.

What is the process for developing Media Releases?  What input to them do Forum Members make?  Who approves their final release?

All members have the opportunity to raise issues/releases in the members area.  Media releases need to be timely.  Administration approves the final media releases.  Approval is an executive decision, it is has to be to remain timely and relevant.  This is  clearly outlined in the members area and has been for years.

Further discussion for members is here --> http://railbotforum.org/mbs/index.php?topic=1008.0 and http://railbotforum.org/mbs/index.php?board=29.0

Most of the media releases are actually result of members' input, informed at times by public feedback as well.  The advantage of a discussion forum is that constant input on issues is accessible and informs what we do.  So if you have comments please post them.  That way they are read and further developed as discussion and often media releases.

Thanks Bob.  It all sounds very reasonable to me. :-)
