It will be a TransLink service, and assumably will be operated out of Sunbus Marcoola depot.

QuoteCoolum to Nambour Bus Trial

A new trial bus service between Coolum and Nambour to be known as Route 623 will commence on 31 October 2011. The trial service will operate four return services per day, seven days per week. Council is fully funding this new trial service with the Public Transport Levy.

Purpose

The trial will allow council to assess the level of demand for a direct service between Coolum and Nambour.

Community engagement

Council invited residents to provide feedback in early 2011 on the proposed route and timetable. The final route and timetable is a result of incorporating this feedback.

Where to from here

The trial will run until 30 June 2012.  A review of the service performance will occur between March and April 2012 and a decision will be made with TransLink regarding the future of the service.

Good to see that council is at least supporting these measures, although at that frequency you have to wonder how this could be worth it.
