I think someone already mentioned this on another thread thinking services had been reduced. TL have actually now advised of the extra services on 199.

I wonder how much this is due to demand, and how much is to do with shutting Cr Abrahams up about re-routing the Glider after the assault/rape in West End??

More late night services for route 199

Extra late night trips on the popular 199 bus route from New Farm to West End will improve safety and meet growing demand on Friday and Saturday nights.

Transport Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk said the new weekend services would be welcomed by local residents.

"Route 199 is one of the most popular services in Brisbane," Ms Palaszczuk said.

"We want people to be able to enjoy a night out and still get home safely and quickly.

"There will be two additional services from the West End Ferry terminal to the Teneriffe Ferry Terminal at 11.50pm and 12.20am, and an extra service from Teneriffe at 11.45pm.

"These additional services will provide more frequent late night options for people on Friday and Saturday nights.

"The local traders in the Teneriffe and New Farm area have been putting forward the case for these services, and I'm very pleased we've been able to deliver.

"The new services will begin on Friday September 2, coinciding with a massive bus improvement package for Brisbane as part of the opening of the $466 million Eastern Busway extension to Coorparoo.

"The Eastern Busway extension also includes new stations at Stones Corner and Langlands Park.

"The new bus services and new busway stations provide commuters with 103,590 new weekly seats."

Regular services started at the new busway stations last Monday (29 August).

Yet the CityGlider continues down Montague Rd, away from there the people are, 24/7 on weekends. Classic move BCC/Translink  :-t  ::)

Politics seems to interfere with everything done with PT in this town.

199 should be 24/7 on weekends and cityglider should cease at 11pm or whenever.
Otherwise re-route the cityglider as per the other thread.
