The current route is unreliable due to being incredibly long and also neither fast nor direct for Gowan Rd.

This is what I am thinking of here for the Warrigal Rd service: http://bit.ly/o3G4HM, serving Queen St (surface), Parliament, Buranda, Griffith University, Garden City, and then all route 156 stops.  I don't think anything is controversial about this one.

As for the Gowan Rd service, it would still serve Queen St (surface), Parliament, Buranda and Griffith University but there are two competing possibilities for the next part.  A 151-like route which would run via Mains Rd and connect with Sunnybank Hills shops, Altandi station and Sunnybank shops (link: http://bit.ly/qsEZX6), or a near-153 service which would run via the Gateway Motorway and connect with Garden City shops (link: http://bit.ly/qh91iN).  Similarly, the tail end of the route could either continue to Browns Plains plaza, or service the last part of the 130's current route and proceed to Illaweena St.  The 130 would then serve Browns Plains.  That would probably be a bit too controversial for most people and likely to cause a backlash but I think I'll put it out there anyway.  Links are :

- Illaweena St via Gateway: http://bit.ly/nF59nn

Mr X

Does Mains Rd really need another BUZ service? Maybe the new 150 to Gowan Rd could run express through?

I think that the suggested 153 that you are proposing to Browns Plains should continue to use Gowan, Nemies and Persse Road instead of Compton, so it still services those routes, and doesn't withdraw services from Persse Road
I'm quite against this.  As for withdrawing services, those roads would still be covered by the Warrigal Rd route.

If it needs to the Nemies Rd milk run then what's the point of trying to speed up the route for the Gowan Rd people?

Probably should have mentioned in the OP, that I suggest that an 8 minute frequency turn up and go service between the two routes connecting Buranda and the Parliament end of town via the Captain Cook Bridge would also be a worthy addition to the network, as would the high speed 8 minute frequency service to Garden City.

Re the Gowan Rd route, is it necessary for it to use Logan Rd?  I think there's some way for buses to go directly from EMP busway station onto the Gateway Mwy, wouldn't that be a better option? Traffic at the intersection of Logan/Miles Platting/Padstow Rds can get really bad at times.

It doesn't need to use Logan Rd, but does need to use Miles Plating Rd O/B.

Perhaps you mean the Warrigal Rd route which does need to use Logan/Padstow Rds.

I meant this one http://bit.ly/nF59nn which I assumed was the Gowan Rd route?

I see in the map it is going via Logan Rd which is between Garden City & Gateway Mwy, which is why I asked the question.  Or is that just because you can't do a map on Google of it going via the SEB & Miles Platting Rd?  I think going the same way the 142 does would be ideal.  Like I said that part of Logan Rd congests really badly during peak, even startin from around 3pm.  I know because I travel it regularly.

I think the only real way to fix this area though is all the Mains Rd routes (P129, 130, N130, 131, 132, P133, 136, P137, 139, 140, 141, 145) and probably also the 134, 135, 145, 155 need to be covered in the review as well.  I would hate to draw a network map of that area because it would look like spaghetti.

Ah Ok.  Yes, that's just a Google mapping artefact.  It's not possible to drive via the SEB.  I definitely meant going the way of the 142.
