Interesting story in the Courier Mail about how Translink ran a Sunday Timetable on Exhibition Wednesday but  decided to not charge off peak fares as is normal on other Public Holidays.

It just shows the utter contempt that TransLink have for the travelling public.

QuoteSomeone travelling from an area where it is not a public holiday - such as Logan, Ipswich, Redland Bay or Caboolture - into Brisbane would need to be charged two different fares if the normal weekday fares were not applied uniformly across the TransLink network," he said.
Were the people in Logan, Redlands etc recieving a weekday timetable though on that day?

Not on the trains.

Buses though?

Lol, that couldn't have been good for Bus/Rail integration!

From memory, I think that any area that didn't have peak hour city services running were on a normal Monday to Friday timetable.  The Redlands were running on a Saturday timetable that day.

Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast rail services were also running on a modified weekday timetable that day (What were normally the peak services to the coasts were catering for the Ekka mob instead of the usual workers), whilst the rest of the network was on a Sunday timetable.

Speaking of bus services, the outer regions were on the weekday timetables that day too.  (Ipswich, Moreton Bay, the Coasts).

But not the trains, if Translink were fair dinkum instead of just out for another money grab using their justification then they should have provided the normal levels of service (weekday off peak as a minimum) timetabling between Ipswich and Darra as a shuttle service that could have connected with the Richlands services to provide a 30 minute frequency to Brisbane rather than the hourly service? that was provided.

somebody

They had the Sunday AM timetable?  I guess if they had a Saturday timetable that would run much later than required.

A Sunday timetable was run with significant extra trains from the extremities to the City. Including extras during the day that were not publicised, they were run simply due to demand.
