MORE disruption is ahead for school students as drivers from Sunshine Coast-based Sunbus plan to strike for four hours on Friday.

Dozens of Sunshine Coast schools are expected to be affected by the strike from 4am to 8am.

The action follows a 28-hour stoppage by Veolia Transport bus drivers last week that impacted 67 schools in Redlands and Brisbane.

Driver Gary Dickfos said demonstrations at Translink headquarters would begin on September 1 to lobby the agency over its "bungled contracting system".
