Feedback received yesterday from a former rail commuter.

Interesting that a car-pooling system won a Premier's Award - maybe we can turn a few tables ...

I am now car-pooling to my new job at Redcliffe - I get a seat every morning & it's costing me $40pw !!!!
I leave home at 7.00 & am home before 5.30 - if I took public transport - train & bus it would take me 2 hours each way.

Noted this link attached to the feedback, for the Premiers carpooling award, clearly a priority - maybe the Premier has caught a Sunshine Coast train.

TravelSmart Sunshine Coast have been trying to encourage / promote carpooling on their website for quite a while now http://www.travelsmartsunshinecoast.com.au/carpool and while it's a good initative I'm not quite sure how successful it's been. I must say, it's astonishing to see just how many cars are on the road during AM and PM peak hour traffic congestion with only ONE person (the driver) in the vehicle!!

Mmmmm, I wonder if our Premier Anna Bligh (since she's promoting this) and her TMR Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk MP carpool together to and from work each day.......oh hang on, no......they live on either side of the river, ooops I forgot that bit

Discussion on ABC FM Sunshine Coast this morning about all the tradies on the Sunny Coast who can't get work there and who are travelling the Bruce Highway to Brisbane daily to pick up flood recovery work.  From discriptions, there are convoys of utes heading out in the early AM and returning late arvo.
