SEQ: Everton Park bus service improvements

RAIL Back On Track (http://backontrack.org) a web based community support group for rail and public transport and an advocate for public transport passengers calls for Everton Park to be given a 'BUZ Corridor' status.

Robert Dow, Spokesman for RAIL Back On Track said:

"Currently, 3 buses per hour pass through Everton Park in the daytime, 7 days per week.  However, there are still gaps of half an hour in the service.  The addition of one more bus per hour combined with a Kelvin Grove Rd routing for the 350 would allow for a BUZ corridor as far as Rode Road and a 7-8 minute frequency at Kelvin Grove so long as the timetable coordinates with the 345.  This assumes that both the 350 and 359 would use King George Square bus station."

"The main issue with doing so is the reduction in service for Wardell St.  This service is best provided with the 360's Everton Hills service and/or a full time 352 to Trouts Rd and Ifield St."

"This upgrade would be excellent value for money and should promote significantly increased patronage on the system as all previous BUZ services have done (1)."
