Didn't the BCC buy a couple of years back two new "Super Buses" they were going to trial - never seen 'em - what's the story please from anyone who may know?   :conf
Thanks.
SEQ, where our only "fast-track" is in becoming the rail embarrassment of Australia!   :frs:

I saw one hurtle past yesterday. It was massive!

Which was that? Was that one of the tri-axle ones? They've got like 25 or there abouts of those now. But I thought the superbuses they talked about had 3 doors, the tri-axles only have two (although a full size rear door). I thought they were a Translink thing and run on the 555 or something?

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yes, the TransLink "rubbish bin" survey also fell off the radar.

Super Bus trial was announced in 2007 (4 years ago)

Superbus finally came along in 2010 http://mobile.translink.com.au/about-translink/reporting-and-publications/media-releases/release/91
and nothing much heard ever since.

I think these buses would be great if they could run outside the busway. Route 199 and off to Indoooroopilly, I am looking at you!

The three door buses are running 555s. Saw another one today.

They're not the double articulated ones that were talked about in 2007 though.

I was talking about the tri-axle but I've seen the triple-door ones as well.

Well I've never managed to see one of the 3 door ones. That said, I don't hang out anywhere near the 555 route at all really, so it kind of makes sense.

I really hate the double door artics, unless you are going a long way.  Means that people have to get off a the front door and block people from getting on.

Yes, Logan have the 2 so called 'super buses'... Just an ordinary artic with 3 doors, less seats and more standing room.

Retired and got bored.

Pretty much.

Though Logan buses (in fact any buses outside of BCC) have considerably more leg room between the seats, so the number of seats would presumably be higher if BT had their way with them.
