I think it's pretty poor that the new timetable has a number of IMUs proceeding along the Ipswich line.  The shortage of IMUs for the Sunshine Coast line was a continual source of frustration in the old timetable.

I was a little surprised to journey from Roma St to Goodna this morning on IMU178.  As I understand it there is one more 3 car SMU to be delivered and 6 IMUs for the new trains.  IMU utilisation is higher than the rest of the fleet, the 6 yet to be delivered units will ease that a bit.
Half baked projects, have long term consequences ...

Some of the IMUs on the Ipswich/Richlands line are either Nambour starters or Nambour terminators.  Unfortunately, the 8am ex-Richlands to Nambour service is a 6-car EMU/SMU more often than not.

The old afternoon Airport to Redbank to Airport to Gold Coast IMU became the Bowen Hills to Richlands to Nambour IMU in the June 6 timetable.
