Congratulations to RAIL Back On Track's Robert Dow on achieving 500 new members.

It will soon be a significant milestone for the web based public transport forum community
and indicative of all the hard work and successful lobbying and publication of all things PT.

Thank you to ozBob and co for the opportunity to be a part of this growing and relevant community
whose impacts will be seen for decades to come.

Well done to all of the team there !  :-t

Kind regards,
Fares_Fair.

Don't forget if you're on Facebook, "Like" the Rail - Back On Track Page.  It's a great way to see all of the media releases, particularly if you're like me and are always checking Facebook via mobile.

Let's see if we can get 500 likes on there too!  :)

The quick way to bump up membership is to publish a short guide to fare dodging and hand it out at train stations. We could also leave it on bus seats. This would be wonderful publicity as well.

ozbob

Thanks, but we are not into 'fare dodging' but extracting maximum value out of a go card or other ticketing options, yes.

Other problem is that would p%ss off the people that mattered.

Now that people are unable to buy daily tickets fare evasion is rife on the trains. I am unable to see how public transport patronage can be increased by abolishing daily tickets. I happily bought one for many years. Now I have to feed this ghastly Translink machine from my meagre income.

That is unfortunate.

No one is calling for the abolition of daily tickets, though they are 45% dearer than the go card, conversely go card is 30% cheaper depending on the spin Translink want to put on it.
They should be a fair and reasonable price and not artificially increased just to make the go card look better.

I don't believe you.

Go Card has made it harder to fare evade as the city stations can be locked off.  Possibly some people are tail gating, but I'm not convinced.

A big  :-t to Ozbob and all his supporters - the impact of BOT is very real and continues to grow.
Today, we talk about improving PT - soon we will leave our geek like environments and rise up and take to the streets...power will be - OK - I've calmed down again - for now!  :hg
Looking forward to Ozbob keeping his promise, to get his gear off and ride the train in naked when BOT membership hits 1 million!   ;D
Thats not a bad idea...a PT Nude Day...  :-r
Seriously - well done on 500 members!
SEQ, where our only "fast-track" is in becoming the rail embarrassment of Australia!   :frs:
