4.42pm Central-Redbank train service change

From Monday 24 January 2011, the 4.42pm Central-Redbank train will be redirected at Darra station onto the new Richlands line.

Passengers for Wacol, Gailes, Goodna and Redbank stations should catch either the 4.35pm or 4.50pm Central-Ipswich trains.

This will benefit Richlands Line commuters who will use this service. However, my wife won't be happy waiting at Central for an extra 8 minutes a day for the 4.50pm Ipswich service. Even though the 2011 draft timetable has significantly increased travel times between Darra & Ipswich, the introduction of express services to Ipswich every 12 minutes at this time of day can't come soon enough.

Until the 2011 timetable is implemented, my wife will arrive home 15 minutes later each day than she would with the new timetable. 15 x 5 = 1 hour 15 minutes per week more travel time.  :thsdo

I'm all for as the introduction of as many through services to Richlands as possible. However, I don't believe that these should be implemented at the expense of existing services on the Ipswich Line.
