The Gates

An interesting side effect of the fare gates installed at Central, Roma Street, Toowong, Helensvale, Robina and other QR stations is that they actually make fare evasion easier for the degenerates that view PT as a free ride.

I've been testing the closed fare gates at Central since they were first closed last year. I touch on, the gates open very slowly and I walk through. Problem is, the gates are also very slow to close, and during the afternoon peak about four people managed to sneak in behind me before the gates closed. I've bought this up with TL many times, but to no avail.

When more gates are closed, ticket checking staff will be ignoring the gates, so it'll be much easier for people who don't do the right thing to get away with it.

Cheers

Thanks for raising this  Blade.

I must admit I have been focussing on the read out and things as still a novice Go Card user.
