QuoteCoast bus drivers 'urinating in bushes'
Sue Lappeman  | 27th October 2010 | Gold Coast Bulletin

GOLD Coast bus drivers are being forced to urinate behind bushes because of unrealistic schedules and the locking of public toilets at night.

Gaven LNP MP Alexander Douglas yesterday told State Parliament a female bus driver recently was caught with her pants down by a group of greatly offended people who had to be talked out of calling the police.

Dr Douglas made the revelation during a debate in State Parliament on new legislation which will allow police to issue on-the-spot fines for public nuisance offences, such as urinating in public.

Hey, it's not just drivers! What about ME when I need to go to the toilet off-peak and I have disembarked from the train only to find that all the station toilets are locked?!  :-w

Or hapless people who find themselves on a NON-TOILET train up on the North Coast Line!!!

Next time they look in the bushes, they might find some hapless passengers as well!

Oh, those hapless people on the North Coast Line have to poop in the bushes too!  Visitors to the Cooroy railway station last week were greeted by the sight of a human t%rd and toilet paper just off the platform and within five metres of the station building.  There were rubbish under the station and empty liquor bottles scattered about.  The possibilities include (1) a recent party where someone was caught short (2) a train traveller was caught short while the station toilets remain locked during the day (3) a drunkard has taken up residence under the station.  And this is the railway gateway to Noosa!

Isn't the station attended during the day? You just ask for it to be unlocked. And if your that desperate after hours you can ask the train crews as well.

No-one is going to do this. The train stops, you get off, the train leaves. You walk to the toilet only to find that it is locked and is after hours, so nobody is there.

Good luck!!!

The locals know the public toilets are over the overbridge, but the visitors don't.  The simple solution is a sign that says:  'When these toilets are locked, or unattended, public toilets are available in Maple Street.  They can be accessed by the pedestrian overbridge."  Easy.
