The 214 (in peak), 215 and 220 run along this road.  My question is: why bother?  Morningside station and Cannon Hill station are no more than a 1.5km walk away for any potential users of these services.  Further inbound Norman Park and Coorparoo stations, and then Woolloongabba busway station provide alternatives to the current route.  Basically, there is a double problem with the current service: the bus is competing with rail, and the Cultural Centre obsession slows the service for people who would use it east of Cannon Hill.

I suggest there is a need for 220 go and be replaced with a full time 221 over the Storey Bridge and combine with the 227. The 215 Tingalpa south service to be provided in a different way, probably via Carindale shops rather than Stanley Rd.

A first!  Somebody is suggesting buses go to be replaced by train service - should be 15 minute frequency at least as far as Manly.

I'm not familiar with the area, but nobody, nobody is going to walk 1.5 km to anything.
Walk up patronage around bus and rail stations is ~400 meters, and quickly falls off to about zero after 800 meters.
Anything beyond that requires rubber tyres- bicycles, cars or feeder buses to get to the station.*

It seems people will walk a little further if the frequency is improved.
Another reason why 15 minute frequency is a no-brainer.

The idea might have merit- will look at this later.  :-t

*Exception: Trams can also be used, but since there are none in Brisbane, this does not apply.

Maybe, TT, but I haven't seen too many people get on and off on Richmond Rd. However, I think you are getting carried away on these distances.  Express buses which only stop every 800m or so cannot be within 400m of everyone who isn't actually on the route.
