Similar error still. I use Firefox which told me there was a problem loading the page and that the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

Maybe they read this forum regularly and thought your suggestion about the coloured icons really WAS important?  :P

:-r  maybe.
I could forgive them if it was to do that .

The Ferny Grove-UQ go card fare anomaly still lives!

01:46 PM    Boggo Rd Station Platform 6    01:48 PM    UQ Lakes    $0.00
02:45 PM    UQ Lakes - Zone C    02:50 PM    Boggo Rd Station Platform 5    $0.00
02:52 PM    Park Road    03:54 PM    Ferny Grove    $ 0.26
After the first trip, all others were in the continuation time frame. Already called and got the $0.26 refunded, no questions asked.

Anomaly?  It's a bug.
Nit pick much?
Anomaly:    Something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.
Bug: An error in a computer program or system.

Seeing as I first brought up this differing fare issue with Translink in March 2011 and they've done nothing to fix it, I'm not sure if you can call it an error as if it was an error, an effort would have been made to fix it.

Just had a look at my go card history and noted the $0.26 refund from Friday was no longer listed in the pending refunds/top ups list, but also wasn't in my history as being applied. When I called up, they said it had been applied and that such refunds no longer turn up in your online go card history.

Having a look, I can't find any top ups at all, even from one of the go card machines. Which makes me wonder why they even bothered to have a 'credit' column seeing as all they're showing is the fares paid.

That's a bit annoying.  Adjustments, no matter the reason, should appear in your history!

Exactly!

Noticed this above the table though: "The following table displays travel related transactions only for the go card. Amounts include GST and may take up to 24 hours to appear."

I think not having top ups/adjustments in the travel history would be ok, if they had a list somewhere else of the last 10 top ups/adjustments or something.

THERE IS A DROP DOWN BOX IN THE HISTORY THAT SHOWS TOP-UPS ETC.
Just need to click on it to show and reclick to hide.

Please tell me you are kidding, this is getting ridiculous.
It's appears to be offline more than it's online.

If only they'd shift those coloured on/off/continuation icons to the left of the station name like I suggested, perhaps it would probably fix it.  :o

It's currently working. I found what you were talking about. I don't get why they have them 'hidden' to begin with, it's not like they get in the way or anything. They should go in the history like they used to, at the time and date the top up occurred, rather than a summary at the bottom of the day the top up/adjustment occurred.

Fares_Fair

I agree with you Golli,
It would be best showing by default, rather than hidden.
Where do these web developers get these ideas from.
Retrograde step on the hidden top ups.

Do you have a direct contact for alerting TL to things like this? Just thinking of ways to get them to fix up the issue with a rail trip from FG to Park Rd only charging a 2 zone fare when it should be 3 zones.

Have you reported it to TL yet using the standard feedback form Golli?  Have they ignored it?

I put it in through my go card online so they could easily look at my records. I just checked and found I haven't raised it through the standard online form. I'll do that now though and see what happens.

Could it treat the Airport leg of the journey as separate perhaps ( a legacy of the past), even though it is not shown as such on your history?
Be interested to hear their response to you.

In regards to swiping on/off its only when the readers are busted.

ozbob

Free trips, particularly on buses are common place,  they are 'expected' as equipment fails, GPS errors and the like ... my freebie on the Airtrain is fascinating ... no response yet ...

I have alerted TL.

I have been advised by TransLink that they have identified the issue.  The root cause being an incorrect configuration load up, and  they will be getting it corrected ASAP.  They thanked me for letting them know promptly.

I reckon there might have been quite a few incorrect freebies, many folks may not be aware of them .. lol

First time I've heard of one on the train. I wonder if AirTrain CityLink will go after TL for compensation if this was a systematic problem?

Get freebies on the bus every now & then, due to busted GPS.  Just shows a $0 fare with touch on and touch off at the same place.

ozbob

Yes, free trips on the bus are routine essentially due to GPS issues etc.  This is the first example I have seen of an incorrect free trip on an otherwise normally functioning system.  It is a programming error essentially.  It may be been confined to Airtrain or wider.  I don't have that information, although I would expect they would do a run through the database to pick up incorrect free fares like this.

There were some strange things that happened when one transferred (touch off then touch back on) at Eagle Junction from/to airtrain a few years ago, essentially reduced fares (not zero though).  That was fixed.

My go card history has not been changed as of yet.  Maybe they will leave as is for being a jolly good fellow!  :o  Maybe not .. lol

A free bus trip just means a paid trip later in the week.  I get them occasionally; not often.

Unless you're transferring to another service, which could mean a reduced fare.

Good to hear they're sorting it. Yet to hear back about the Ferny Grove-Park Road 2 zone vs. 3 zone fare issue. As much as my go card (and bank) balance prefers the slightly cheaper fare, here's hoping they sort it out as I'd much rather pay the right fare.

I got contacted on monday that they wanted me to call and provide more information. I did call and I think they got what they needed, but I'm not sure as the guy didn't seem to understand what was going on. Seeking some clarification on that. In other news, I got a faulty bus reader heading to Park Road yesterday so I had only the the train leg on my card which ended up only charging me a 2 zone fare.

Which is odd because usually with the bus involved, it charges a 1 zone fare for the bus leg (2 to 2) then the train leg adds the difference for the other 2 zones (1 and 3). Odd.

Not as yet. I just called now to follow up (turns out there's no queue on the Translink phone line at 10.30pm, who knew? :P) and it turns out the first time I called they didn't add my go card number to the original which is what was done just now and the lady resubmitted it for me. That said, from her end she couldn't see anywhere where they'd actually said what the extra information required actually was, but we both assumed it was probably the go card number so they could look up the specific trips.
Any updates on this Golli?

Having a look at my online history, and I was also charged the correct fare on monday, before I called on Tuesday night, so maybe the first guy did do something with my go card number that the second person couldn't see. All I know  is it appears to be working.
