Just noticed that the contact us page is now call 'Contact us & Help'. It now has a FAQ at the top, answering questions such as "Why is my bus or train late?" ::) Still, hopefully this means that the volume of queries may go down and thus the quality of the responses should hopefully go up.

Are there any other changes to the website that you have noticed? Good or bad?
There is no silver bullet... but there is silver buckshot.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Is there a FAQ on why the promise of 83,000 extra trains seats/week by July 1st looks like it's going to be broken?

Or a FAQ on why do we have backwards 30mins off-peak, and >20min peak gaps on busy rail lines?

Or a FAQ on why it took 7 months to extend the 66 to RBWH after the busway was extended there?

Or a FAQ on why we have to pay for a phone call to correct Go-Card mistakes which are no fault of our own?
Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2007 - 7tph
Evening peak service to Enoggera* 2010 - 4tph
* departures from Central between 16:30 and 17:30.

QuoteWhy does the electronic sign at my stop show a different time rather than the timetable or when the bus comes?

Electronic signs at bus stops are not connected to bus GPS systems and are not real-time displays of arrival and departure times.

Times shown on these boards are based on previous arrival times. Due to heavy traffic or other issues, services may run outside of these times or in some circumstances be cancelled altogether.

True real-time technology is a priority for TransLink and we hope to implement this service in the future
.

Finally they've published it, no doubt to try and get people to ask them for real realtime information, so that they can then get the budget to get it done.

Very tactful. Now all the complaints etc you have to click a button to see them.. ;)

The stock answer to those three is funding issues.  Nothing comes for free remember!

Yes, but if you remember the price of using public transport happened to increase by over 20% in January. We expect to see better action on improving public transport than has occurred.

TransLink only seem to be encouraging people to go back to driving! Frequencies that discourage the use of public transport, route 66 to RBWH 7-months late, and soon to be broken 83,000 train seats promise (only 5 weeks left) shows what little respect the Queensland Government and TransLink have for improving public transport.

every cent collected from the the increase in fares will go to funding
better transport services

This is correct. EVERY CENT we were told.
The buses have been forthcoming, but the new ferries and definitely rail has fallen down.  :-[

Yes, but I know for a fact that there are projects and service upgrades that TransLink really would like to implement but are constrained by Treasury's lack of flow of funds.

TransLink is only as good as the funding it recieves, just like any other government department.

Well Minister Nolan and Premier Bligh made these commitments so were they just feed the masses cake spin or deliberate lies in sake of politicial expediency?
The Ministers office and advisers would have discussed the provision of these additional services (read seats) with Translink as would the Premiers office and advisers so the funding issue excuse from Translink has no validity.
Again Translink and the Government have failed to deliver so now the public is expected to cop more lame excuses from Translink while seeking to play pass the blame again.
What has been done with the money from the fare increases?

Even if you think this way, it still doesn't explain why they couldn't have canned the 393 to pay for it, for example.  Or combined the 66 & 109 and used those savings.

Hard to argue how Translink are doing much besides encouraging car use.  And I don't know what dwb was refering to when he/she said they are doing a lot.
