They need to get their own big CBD. All three of them.
The Gold Coast, Ipswich and Sunshine Coast could be treated like cities in their own right.
This means they would get their own CBDs and also their own "central station". Lines would radiate out from this.

This would be similar to how CityRail in Sydney treats Wollongong and Newcastle.

I would suggest that if people are unable to find suitable work on the Gold Coast they should not live there.
