I've been aware for a while of this long-term, non-committed proposal from the Qld Govt.  IF it goes ahead, would it be worthy of including a rail corridor (running from say around Toowong) in the "one-off" construction effort - like I THINK they did with tunnel for the Tugan Bypass (might be wrong, but I think I read that somewhere - it has future rail capacity).

This would open the possiblity of a new inner-Western/cross city service with a link to perhaps both the Ferny Grove and perhaps further out to the main Northern line....can't be that bad an idea and reduced costs IF the State embraces the ONE chance to do it!

Thoughts please.  Maybe one for the upcoming Citizens forum.

;D

SEQ, where our only "fast-track" is in becoming the rail embarrassment of Australia!   :frs:

Yes, worth looking in to.

Co-construction can make projects cheaper and faster than what they would be if done seperately because they can share equipment, officers etc.

For example, the Airport Link is also delivering the Nth Busway Extension.
Negative people... have a problem for every solution. Posts are commentary and are not necessarily endorsed by RAIL Back on Track or its members.

It makes sense but it would be nice to just once trial building the PT first and work out if the road is even needed?
