How would you rate the roll out of the go card so far (from the initial contract to this week)?

Essentially three main areas to consider.

1.  The system, ease of use, reliability. We are stuck with it but maintenance and responses to failures is important.

2.  The fare structure.

3.  Overall support for the go card, including distribution, availability and access.

Please comment as desired.

How is the go card going?  :hc
Thanks.

Ok, I will 'fess up,  I gave it a 4 for the roll out ...

Time now to put in place the support and systems to make it better.  Things starting to happen, better late than never!

Its interesting that someone gave it a 10 out of 10....

Can only imagine it was a slip of the finger?  :D

I think they meant 0, Nightwriter ... or perhaps the Minister voted  :-w
I must confess, that's all I gave it.

Too many unresolved and blatant issues with the jolly thing in my eyes.

To be honest - if they did, it would be the smartest move they've made in a long time!  They might learn something.  :-t

How did I come up with a score of 4?

System  6/10

Fare Structure 3/10

Support 3/10

Average 12/3 = 4

Yes we are stuck with the system, but BIG improvements can be made with the Fare Structure and Support ..

I gave the roll-out a 5. Reasons Being:

1. The system works well and really does make travelling on PT much easier - Its much quicker to board a bus now and it will only get better. Generally I have found maintenance issues are attended to quite quickly by cubic. However the system loses points over the inadequate amount of card readers and problems with beeps/screen clarity.

2. Fare structure isn't very impressive. The lack of daily/weekly/monthly caps really can make it costly for people who travel very frequently on PT. There could also be improvements by way of more discounts or other incentives offered.

3. Support for the go card is also very average. There are still many gaps in retailer coverage including the lack of railway stations with full go card facilities. I also think there could have been a lot more done to educate people in the lead up to the fare increase.

As of 3.25pm 16th January, the average of the poll scores is 3.7/10

Room for improvement ....
