What are the immediate priorities for the go card:

Here are some to start with, any more?

1.   Immediate amnesty for new users - no questions refunds for two user failures.

2.   Clarification of when users can travel for free when equipment down at rail stations.  Not practical or safe to expect users to check every reader at a rail station.

3.   Introduction of web based form, print version with free post, and a call back service for mobile users, and a free call number for others for reimbursement adjustment claims and so forth.

4.  A genuine commitment to further fare enhancements publicly spelt out, to include capping and periodical ticketing options.  Myki is a stand out in this regard.

5.  Roll out of additional go card equipment at rail stations and bus stations as needed. Already reports of queuing.

6.  A commitment and real policy of failed go card equipment to be fixed same day where possible, certainly within 24 hours at the most.  Equipment to be clearly signed when not operational.

7.  Introduction of much needed rail services, eg. Sunshine Coast, Ipswich Rosewood peak pm gap.  More sweepers CAB IPS, more trains full stop.  Bus services increased eg. inbound INB etc.

8.  Immediate distribution of the free go cards  promised as part of the new fare strategy.

9.  Proper information and user displays set up where folks can see the equipment that is used and practise.  Similar as the myki displays, but need not be as grand.   Much better customer go card education programs.

They really need Go card sales @ the Airport Stations (Brisbane and Coolangatta terminals) too as well as able to top up with your credit card. So many travellers rely on Credit Card payments and paying for public transport at all locations with ease of a credit card should be no exception. Automatic Ticket machines (That you can top up with a credit card as well as buy a go card)  at all Bus Stations along the Busway network and at Premium Stops Such as Indooroopilly, Toombul, Chermside, Mt Gravett, Sunshine Plaza Maroochydore, Robina SC as well as Pacific Fair interchange and Tweed Heads. etc.......

Pretty much just program the myki ticketing system in.

Just gave a guided tour of the AVVM on platforms 1/2 Oxley to a couple of new senior go card users.  They are very comfortable now once they are shown how to check history, status, balance and so forth.

The go card readers are very difficult for many folks.  One of the appealing equipment features of the myki system are the additional card checkers that are distinct from the normal touch on/off readers and the top up machines (equivalent to AVVM).

Noticed yesterday that the Ticket Office at the Riverside Citycat terminal does not sell Go Cards. Madness plus this will add to Tourist frustrations/costs as well.

I wonder if there's a problem with power supply at the ferry terminals?  They certainly have lighting, but some of them (e.g. QUT) are otherwise quite isolated.  But yes, I agree Jonno - we should be trying to make it easier, not harder, for tourists to use the GO, even if only for our own sakes, because it speeds up loading.
